About ProjectCalc

ProjectCalc answers the question people actually have when they are standing in a hardware store or in a half-finished room: how much should I buy? Not just the area or the volume, but the bags, boxes, bundles, sheets or pallets you put in the trolley — with the waste, the rounding and the leftover shown rather than hidden.

There are currently 16 calculators across 6 live categories, and the library is still growing. Every one of them works completely free, with no account, no email gate and no paywall.

Each calculator is defined as data — its inputs, formula, assumptions, sources and review date — and rendered by one shared interface. That is deliberate: it means a fix to the way waste or unit conversion works improves every calculator at once, rather than being patched in sixteen places.

All arithmetic runs in SI base units internally and converts at the edges, so you can type 8' 6", 2.4m or 96" into the same field and get the same answer. The methodology page explains the whole system, including rounding, versioning and what we deliberately do not calculate.

ProjectCalc estimates quantities. It does not size structural elements, specify reinforcement, or tell you what your local building code requires. Tools that touch structural, electrical or code-compliance territory are either left unbuilt or carry an explicit scope note explaining where the estimate stops and where a professional starts.

We also do not publish fake reviews, invented statistics, or pages that exist only to catch a keyword. If a page is here, it is because it does something a person actually needed.
